Cracked windshields can happen anytime, anywhere. There are many scenarios where you may discover a chip or hole in your windshield. One of the most common incidents that our insureds experience is that they are driving behind or passing a semi-truck and it kicks up a stone, which hits the windshield of our insured’s vehicle, causing a crack in the glass. Another common call we get is when someone gets in their vehicle and notices a small chip that is beginning to “spider web” across the windshield.
Cracked windshields fall under a comprehensive deductible, which the insured would only need to pay if they do not have the glass waiver coverage. If the insured wants to have the windshield fixed through insurance, we provide them with a phone number for their carrier and their policy number. The insured can then proceed to get their windshield fixed.
