Throw away Christmas lights that have cord damage.
When replacing bulbs, ensure they are the correct wattage.
Read the manufacturer’s instructions for Christmas lights, and do not exceed the maximum number of connected strands.
Do not tuck extension cords under tree skirts or rugs.
Make sure your tree is at least three feet away from any heat source.
NEVER use candles to decorate your tree.
Turn off lights before you go to bed.
Water your tree daily.
Remove your tree in a timely manner after the holiday.
