Michigan law requires you to have no-fault auto insurance on your vehicle. In the event of an automobile accident, collision coverage will help pay for damages done to your car. The three types of collision coverages are: Limited, Standard, & Broad.
1. Limited- If you are more than 50% at fault, your insurance pays nothing and the repairs are up to you. If you are less than 50% at fault, your insurance pays for the collision damage, but you still pay your deductible.
2. Standard or Regular- If you are more than 50% at fault, your insurance pays for the collision damage, but you pay your deductible. If you are less than 50% at fault, your insurance pays for the collision damage, but you pay your deductible.
3. Broad- If you are more than 50% at fault, your insurance pays for the collision damage, but you pay your deductible. If you are less than 50% at fault, your insurance pays for the collision damage and you DO NOT pay your deductible.
